Double Page Spread Draft Music Magazine

FIRST DRAFTS

These two images are the first two drafts I did of my double page spread. The first one looks very boring and no where near professional standards. The writing was in one massive block and the picture is placed on the right hand page and it looks like it has just been dumped there to fill up the space.
This is the same with the four images down the bottom right. Everything on these two pages looks like it has jsut been put there to fill up the gaps.

After the first draft I changed a lot of it around. I moved the main picture into the centre and had two collums of writing which instantly made it look more professional. However the font was not a good style, it was too bold so it was hard to read and it was too big so it took up way too much space. The pictures looked a bit better down the bottom when they were spread out with the tour dates in the centre. After making the adjustments I then remembered that if this magazine were to be published they would be cut into two seperate pages there splitting the picture and the text box in half and making it look terrible.

After all of this I decided to restart my double page spread to improve the layout, change the pictures and to add a lot more information/text. This helped me realise what I could do to make my magazine look much more professional.
